So today i have brought a unique, action-adventure and First-Person Shooter game which was developed by Ubisoft montreal and also published by Ubisoft. The name of the game is Far Cry 3. Far Cry 3 is set on a tropical Asian-Pacific archipelago called the Rook Islands. The game's protagonist is a young American man named Jason Brody who is trying to save his imprisoned friends and escape the hostile islands after a vacation gone wrong.
Far Cry 3's story is vivid and characterful, yet you can dip into it whenever you want. After all, there's a lush island to explore, and countless side-missions, including a whole set that play out a back-story showing what happened to Rook Island in World War ii.
ABOUT GAME
Far Cry 3 starts brilliantly, with a montage of phone and video footage documenting the high holidaying jinks of a bunch of moderately obnoxious American students on Rook Island, an apparently idyllic Pacific paradise. But after a parachute jump, things go unspeakably wrong, with the party captured by Vaas, a gloriously characterised and very believable psychopath, who has an ego the size of a planet and is given to philosophising about the nature of madness and random acts of chilling violence.The game takes place on the fictional Rook Islands, a tropical archipelago which can be freely explored by players.
The modes don’t offer much you can’t get elsewhere, but the island setting, “survival instinct” effect that highlights enemies for poorly performing players, and amusing match endgame that allows the best player on the winning team to either humiliate or show mercy to the best player of the losing team give the game its own feel.
The character was redesigned after Michael Mando auditioned for the role, as his physicality was very different from what the developers had planned. Bull's physical fierceness transformed into the villain's emotive and volatile personality.
A second iteration of the character was named Pyro and featured a heavily mutilated body, though such features were later removed as Mando's portrayal of Vaas enabled his personality to be expressed through subtle mannerisms. The team envisioned him to be a charming but menacing villain. Hay compared Vaas to Darth Vader, in which his presence is often short and brief, yet when he appears, he catches attention and galvanizes players' memories.
Hay described Vaas as a character that was "very much in your face", which helped cemented Jason's early status as a "victim". Yohalem added that Vaas's death at the game's midpoint was inspired by the novel To the Lighthouse, in which the protagonist died midway through the story and the rest of the plot explores her absence
GAMEPLAY
Gameplay focuses on combat and exploration. Players can use a variety of weapons to defeat human enemies and hostile wildlife, and the game features elements found in role-playing games such as skill trees and experience. After a vacation goes awry, protagonist Jason Brody must save his friends, who have been kidnapped by pirates, and escape from the island and its unhinged inhabitants.
After escaping pirate captivity, Jason Brody vows to drop his silver spoon and pick up an AK-47. With the help of the island natives, he starts down the path of the warrior, taking over enemy encampments, learning to live off the land, and trying to find his friends before they are sold into slavery. This sudden transformation from harmless party boy to savage killer feels implausible, but Far Cry 3 introduces so many other compelling characters (especially the tribal leader Citra and the madman Vaas) and throws so many activities at players that you find yourself invested in the world nonetheless.
The game features a four-player cooperative multiplayer mode, which is set six months before the events of the main game. The mode features five different classes: Warrior, Rusher, Deadeye, Saboteur or Bodyguard.There is also Transmission, a Domination variant in which the control points are radio transmitters that change location.
In Firestorm, a team needs to ignite two fuel dumps held by another team while protecting their own from being set on fire. Killing enemies successively, reviving team members and utilizing battle cry grant players Team Support Points, which can be used to unlock perks like "psyche gas" which causes enemies to hallucinate all players as shadows.
Far Cry 3 features a full-fledged multiplayer mode complete with player progression, unlockable weapons/attachments, and four game modes. The sluggish movement and questionable hit detection keep this game from competing against the top online shooters, but if the community embraces the map editor, it could still find a niche in the overcrowded space.
Playing Jason Brody, you manage to escape with the help of your similarly incarcerated and Army-trained brother, who is gunned down as you flee. You're rescued by Dennis Rogers, a Liberian immigrant trying to mobilise the one village on Rook Island not in thrall to Vaas, and end the latter's reign of terror. A military expert prone to mysticism, Dennis instructs you, as Brody, in the art of becoming a guerrilla warrior.
In addition to the impressive single-player campaign, which features one of my favorite narrative conclusions this year, Far Cry 3 also offers a standalone co-op mode complete with its own story. As four players work together to hunt down a cruise-ship captain who sold out his crew and passengers to pirates, you encounter scripted sequences that require you to work together to take out bridges or compete against one another in shooting challenges.
The co-op largely abandons the open-world format that makes the single-player experience, but it’s a fun diversion nonetheless.
